Ok, so their actual involvement in the wedding is limited. But some of you have expressed interest in the fact that, since the move to Stoughton, the deLima-Dwiggins household has become a five-animal establishment. So, for your information, we provide this handy field guide:
The Cats
Goldie
Dave adopted Goldie in 2000 from a colleague at The Tennessean. She is the oldest of the three cats, and spends almost all of her time on the first floor of the house. The dog enjoys playing with Goldie. Goldie tolerates the dog, and enjoys sneaking onto the dining room table when no one’s looking.
Walter
Kate adopted Walter from the MSPCA in January 2005. He was about a year old then, so his current age is something like eight. Walter loves sunny spots, the Cat Dancer, and any wet cat food.
Amelia
Kitten Amelia joined Kate and Walter (also from the MSPCA) in March 2006. She’s about six years old now. Amelia’s a bit of a glutton, and loves the buffet arrangement at the new house. She also loves having the back of her neck scratched.
The Dog
Lucy
Kate found Lucy on Petfinder and adopted her as a 13-week-old puppy through Great Dog Rescue New England in January 2007. Lucy is now five years old, but she still has lots of puppy energy! Retrieving a ball (especially one thrown with a Chuckit!) is one of her absolute favorite things.
The Snake
Victor, Victor, Boa Constrictor
Kate fell in love with Victor in 2008, when he looked something like this. He’s a boa (we’re not sure exactly what kind) and will live for 25 years or so. He eats only about every two weeks, and spends the rest of his time hanging out in his rock or looking for new escape routes from his tank.
This is Victor in September 2011. He’s probably a bit bigger now. Kate still loves him, and Dave is delighted by him as well.
